Thirsty Thursday around the table
The Table is our worship and the center of our community. We embrace the model Jesus shared with his disciples — we gather around a meal, celebrate, support, and connect with one another, and we discuss faith as it matters to our lives today. For hundreds of years after Jesus died, this was largely the way the early church experienced what we now refer to as “church.” As we share, listen, ask, wonder, and pray, we worship God with our thanks and praise.
On the fourth Thursday of each month we gather at Homebase for Thirsty Thursday around The Table. At these events, we start with a topic of interest or concern that often directly connects the faith we profess with our lived experiences. Thirsty Thursday allows us to build a framework of faith, and Thirsty Thursday around The Table invites us to see how these faith-frameworks fit into and inform our lives.
There is always a meal, and often we provide it (free of charge!). Occasionally we throw in a potluck and invite you to bring something to share. The evening is casual and the mood is relaxed. Childcare is provided, but not required. We get along, but we don’t agree on everything—and that’s great! After all, we strongly believe that the questions are more important than the answers.
